    Description : Flagler County government is looking for a Part Time (12 hours a week) Economic Development Specialist to work in the Economic Opportunity Department who will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Executive Director of Economic Development. Incumbent in this classification functions at the expert level and will be accountable for the accuracy of both routine and non-routine, sensitive administrative support duties.  Essential Functions : Performs a variety of advanced administrative tasks, which require exceptional skills in planning, organization and the ability to multi-task. Performs and analyzes complex administrative problems and recommends solutions as dictated by the nature of the department. Receives telephone inquiries and concerns, ascertaining the nature of the call, and resolving personally or directing it to the appropriate individual or department, or acting as liaison to the Department Director. Performs a variety of critical record management duties, manages the department record retention system and filing systems of relevant materials appropriate to assigned department, e.g., payroll, accounts payable, departmental files, personnel records. Coordinates and assists in the departmental preparation of operating budget and requests documents. Researches, analyzes, makes recommendations, and prepares written and oral reports on short- and long-term economic development strategies.   Assists in developing systems to collect, measure, and analyze data regarding economic conditions, resources, and opportunities for business creation and expansion.        Prepares bid documents, grant applications and business proposals.   Performs record and data cleanup/updates in Salesforce database as needed.            Assists the Executive Director with phone and communications, providing timely, engaging interactions with board members, foundation and government representatives and senior executives in government and the private and non-profit sectors. Performs related duties as required. Minimum qualifications :  Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.Supplemented by five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience and/or training in administrative/secretarial support functions to include highly responsible experience in a support capacity. Experience with computer use in a Windows based environment required with the ability to type 45+ correct words per minute.  Salesforce experience preferred. Valid Florida Driver’s License.     Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is recruiting for a Grounds Service Person for the Daytona Beach campus. The Grounds Service Person performs maintenance and repairs on the landscaped grounds, parking lots, roads, fencing, and drainage systems as assigned by the Foreman or Crew Leader.  Responsibilities:  Install new and renovate old landscaping including but not limited to turf, trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds. Maintain, renovate, and repair all exterior athletic and recreational facilities. Remove all trash on grounds including emptying waste receptacles. Provide emergency response, as appropriate, to exterior hazardous conditions.  Assist in various special events, set-ups, and building service functions as needed. Maintain, renovate and repair campus grounds including but not limited to: landscaping, fencing, parking lots, roadways, pathways, athletic and recreational facilities. Maintain parking lots and roadways including potholes, curb stops, and cleaning. Operate power equipment using caution to ensure the safety of both life an property. Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is operating properly.  Maintain records of man-hours and materials used, and vehicle log trip tickets. Responsible for keeping all equipment safe from vandalism or theft during working hours. Request equipment and supplies in advance to ensure job completion. Responsible for cleaning all equipment at the end of the work day.  Other related duties as assigned by the Foreman. Work hours may vary. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with 1 year of work related experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.  Must meet the University’s standards for approved drivers. Unacceptable driving records (as stated in the Use of Equipment and Vehicles Procedure 1.17) include the following (for three years from the date of each occurrence): More than 3 moving violations and/or accidents in 3 years More than 2 moving violations and/or accidents in any 1 year A major conviction in the last 3 years, including (but not limited to) driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and/or homicide or assault by motor vehicle. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing, with the ability to comprehend basic instructions and respond effectively. Must be able to operate a standard shift vehicle. Ability to operate all power equipment as related to grounds maintenance. Basic knowledge in all areas of grounds maintenance, horticulture, cement work, etc. Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding and work in overhead areas.   Must be able to lift and/or carry miscellaneous grounds equipment or supplies short distances and to push or pull a hand cart. Eye-hand coordination essential for proper operation of power tools and other work associated with grounds maintenance. Employee must take necessary precautions due to the nature of the equipment he/she is working with and the outside elements subjected to, to protect themselves and those around them of the hazards associated with this type of work.
